Wedding Countdown: Skin Care Do’s and Don’ts
The ring is on your finger, the news has been spread and the date has been set. Here are a few tips on what to do (and NOT do) in order to look your best on the big day.
Six Months and Counting…
Kick-start your pre-wedding prep with Olga Lorencin's Red Carpet Facial Two Week Challenge! Use Olga's Red Carpet Facial daily for two weeks and watch as your complexion transforms. After two weeks, follow with the recommended once-a-week usage.
Next, meet with your esthetician to determine a customized combination of skin care treatments and at-home care. Our pre-wedding go-to: Kinara’s Poreless Facial. For the best results, opt for a combination of exfoliating and hydrating facials, and make sure you’re having treatments monthly. Beware of starting any strong retinol treatments. Make sure your dermatologist or esthetician knows your wedding date to avoid treatments that may induce peeling.
Three Months and Counting…
Tan lines are never a good look, so unless you’re wearing a turtleneck on your wedding day, now may be a good time to invest in a strapless bikini. Also, schedule your makeup trial as soon as you can. You want to be familiar with the makeup you’ll be wearing on your wedding day. You want your makeup to look great, of course, but you also want to make sure it won’t break you out. Oh, and best to plan your bachelorette weekend well in advance... You don’t want to look like a Vegas-walk-of-shame anytime near your wedding day. But just in case: Kinara’s Lymphatic Treatment is the ultimate detoxification.
Two Weeks and Counting…
It’s crunch time ladies! At this point it’s all about getting plenty of sleep, drinking tons of water, and attempting to keep your stress level down. Do NOT try and experiment with any “exciting” new products unless your esthetician has specifically suggested them for you. Eliminate sugar and alcohol (easier said than done but try your best.) And no cleanses! They can trigger breakouts. Oh, and don’t forget to schedule your waxing and sunless tanning appointments.
