Everything You Need To Know About Men's Skincare (In Less Than 2 Minutes!)

Did you know men’s skin is 25 % thicker than women's skin on average PLUS has more collagen? So unfair! However… because men have more testosterone, their skin produces more sebum and thicker hair follicles - not as jealous about this!

By possessing this skin structure, it allows men to use stronger exfoliants and more potent, active ingredients. And yes, let’s just get this out of the way: men still need to exfoliate - especially if they're sporting beards! The best way for men to exfoliate is via liquid chemical peels such as the Red Carpet or Deep Detox At-Home Facials because, 1) it’s easy to rinse off, and 2) it doesn’t leave any messy leftovers in the beard area.

During my 25 years of working hands-on with skin, I've noticed that men are more likely to use skincare products that are non-greasy, easy to use, and have a light fresh scent. With all this in mind, I’ve created a quick guide to an easy and effective skincare routine that is perfect for men - to eliminate the guessing game.

Normal - Oily Skin

AM + PM

  1. Purifying Cleansing Gel
  2. Rebalancing Toner (Apply with your hands - you don’t need a cotton pad)
  3. Weightless Moisturizer (Apply directly over a slightly damp face after toner)
  4. SPF: Any oil-free mineral sunscreen is your best bet; Cakemake Mermaid Gel (The cutest packaging 🧜); Tizo or Image are great options as well!

ONCE A WEEK (can’t stress enough how important this step is)
- Use the Red Carpet or Deep Detox At-Home Facials but make sure you did not shave the day before! Follow the instructions as normal, but if you have a beard, omit the mask in that area and only apply a generous amount around the upper face and neck.

EYE CREAM
- Be ambitious! You don’t want wrinkles around your eyes - trust me 😉

Normal - Dry Skin

AM
1. Purifying Cleansing Gel
2. Weightless Moisturizer
3. SPF: Again, Image or Tizo - they’re so good!

PM
1. Purifying Cleansing Gel
2. Intense Moisturizer

ONCE A WEEK (very, very, very important, again)
- Use the Red Carpet Facial in a Box but make sure you did not shave the day before! Follow the instructions as normal, but if you have a beard, omit the mask in that area and only apply a generous amount around the upper face and neck.
