Skin Hangover Quick Fix
It’s no secret that alcohol and glowing skin don’t mix. But as a lover of the occasional cocktail or glass of wine, I can empathize with the repercussions an over-indulgent evening may have had on your complexion. With that in mind, I’ve put together a few ways to conceal a wild night’s festivities. Just remember — a quick fix will never replace a full night of beauty sleep! But here are a few tried and true remedies to start your new year with glowing new skin.
First Things First: Combat Dehydration.
Dehydrated skin is never a good look, and it makes for a terrible makeup base. Make sure you’re chasing every cocktail consumed with a glass of water.
Second: WASH YOUR FACE.
You hear this a lot, we know. But we’re going to say it again because it’s that important: Wash your face before bed. There’s no concealing an evening filled with bubbles and muddled-fruit libations if you’re not washing away your makeup before your head hits the pillow.
Third: Replenish While You Sleep.
You can do this with an overnight mask, a deeply nourishing serum, or better yet, both. My favorite skin-care-concoction is an equal-part-mix of the Lactic Acid Hydrating Serum and the Reparative Nutrient Serum. The Lactic Acid gently brightens while the Reparative gets to work replacing any lost moisture.
Finally: Give Your Skin a Wakeup Call.
This is your sluggish skin salvation, your last ditch effort, your I’ve-got-to-look-fresh-for-this-meeting go-to. Give yourself a quick flash peel in the morning using the Red Carpet Facial. Before you hop in the shower, pour a teaspoon of the Red Carpet Step 1 (The Peel) into the palm of your hands and massage into the skin. Next, pour a teaspoon of the Red Carpet Step 2 (The Neutralizer) into the palm of your hands and massage directly over step 1. You’ll feel a flash of heat, which is great. That’s the wakeup call your complexions needs! Finally, massage the Red Carpet Step 3 (The Mask) into your skin and leave it on while you’re showering, rinsing just before you’re finished. The combination of all three steps, along with the steam of the shower, will perk up your complexion, give you an excellent base for your makeup, and overall give you the boost you need to face the day. That and a strong cup of coffee!
